When an addiction becomes a habit, it can create a link to certain triggers and create an auto response. Even though a habit or craving has been under control for awhile, the trigger can set in motion the actions of the past that we thought were gone; sometimes to our surprise. I got done with it and knew the information within it covered more than just the subject it was written about. You see, it is a book that addresses Pornography addictions. However, it addressed the reason I had my addiction - food!
I told my best friend about it. She was shocked saying, "Why are you giving me a book on pornography addiction.? My husband and I don't have a problem with that." I told her, "This is the best DIET book I ever read! Just take out the word pornography and insert the habit or craving you need to work on." She read it and agreed. It was a great resource to address any addiction, craving or habit.
I then gave the book to all my married children to read. At first they were puzzled, too, why I was giving them a book about Pornography addiction. They all read it and all agreed as well that within the pages of this book were key elements to help them with triggers, no matter what they were.

We have been taught that it takes 21 days to create a new habit. Usually we can plan on what we can accomplish in 3 weeks. But what happens after the 21 days?
Many times when we try to change a habit, craving or reduce stress, we can "control" it for a time. Things seem to be going smoothly when all of a sudden - BAM - we experience a trigger that created our imbalance in the first place. Even though we have created a new habit in a stress-free environment for the first 21 days, sometimes this trigger brings back unwanted actions and we feel we have to start all over again. It's not a matter of if a trigger will happen, it's when.
